

Here's Fire Place Rock with North Butte looming behind it. You can see the railroad track at its base. The Gila River flows across the bottom of the picture but is hidden by the vegetation. Notice how different the cliff is in color from the mountain behind it. This is because the "desert varnish" was blasted away with the face of the cliff during the construction of the railroad.
