Troubleshooting for Ryobimatic Dampener Maintenance

APPLICABLE TO RYOBI 3302H & 3304H, AB DICK 9995 & 4995

The Ryobimatic dampener must be kept spotless for best performance. The rubber rollers should be replaced at least once a year, the metering roller perhaps twice a year. This procedure was developed by one of my customers and should give maximum performance during the useful life of the rollers.

SUPPLIES

• Nikken Silver Poly Fountain Concentrate or Varn Versi Fountain Solution.
• Hearst Universal (pink) fountain solution or similar
• Allied Dynaklean
• Metering roller cleaner (Hearst 184 or similar)
• Varn Pronto Roller Wash

PROCEDURES

Mix Nikken Silver Poly 1 oz. to a gallon or Varn Versi 3 oz. to a gallon for your chiller or recirculation unit. Clean tank and replace fountain solution weekly. Change recirculation filter monthly.

TO WASH UP THE PRESS

1. Shift the water roller cleaning lever so that the bridge roller contacts the water oscillating roller.
2. Rinse off most of the ink with Pronto using the cleaner tray.
3. Apply Dynaklean and allow press to idle for 1-2 minutes.
4. Rinse with Pronto.
5. Repeat Dynaklean and Pronto.
6. Shift the bridge roller back to the separated position.
7. After the wash-up wipe the chrome water oscillator with pink fountain concentrate to remove all traces of ink and chemicals.
8. Clean the rubber metering roller and water form roller with metering roller cleaner. (when wiping the water rollers use only cotton pads – never use rags)
