Troubleshooting for Paper Feed Setup for Ryobi Duplicators
APPLICABLE TO MODELS 2800, 3200
1. ADJUST THE FEED ROLLER DWELL (BUCKLE)
For most papers the feed roller should be set so that it rotates 1-1/8 turns. If necessary, the setting may be adjusted up to 3 clicks clockwise for heavy paper and 2 clicks counterclockwise for lighter stocks.
2. ADJUST SHEET SEPARATORS (CAT WHISKERS)
Sheet separators should be set according to the diagram. Be sure that they are not dragging on the edge of the cutout. Position brackets so there is an operating suction foot above each separator.
3. CHECK THE BALE BAR
The standard setting for the bale bar is 80mm (3 -1/8”) from the separator brackets.
4. SET TABLE HEIGHT
The feed table should be set so that it stops rising at the proper level for the paper being fed. See diagram at right.
5. ADJUST BLOWER VOLUME
With the paper height set as above and the press idling, turn on blower air and adjust so that the top sheet barely floats up to the sheet separator.
6. SUCTION
Light papers (16-50 lb. stocks): Remove all rubber suckers and open all tubes that fully cover the sheet. Adjust suction to maximum.
Heavier papers (above 50 lb.): Never use rubber suckers on all the tubes. Install rubber suckers on every other tube and close the valves on unused tubes. Turn suction volume to minimum and put the press in feed mode. Turn up suction volume one half turn at a time until a sheet is picked up, then turn the suction up another half turn.
