This is the history of the first resort in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Built in 1910 as a private club, the Ingleside Inn soon became a resort hotel and later a private school for girls. The Inn is gone now but the east Phoenix neighborhood where it once stood still retains its memory in the names of schools, apartments and businesses.
